At Connec–to–Talk, we take pride in having highly educated staff with exceptional leadership skills, as well as a commitment to a valuable work ethic. Our employees are committed to understanding and analyzing your child’s behavioral needs.
The field of Applied Behavior Analysis(ABA) comprises direct service providers otherwise known as our ABA therapists and the supervisors that oversee behavioral programming who are known as Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA). At Connec–to–Talk all of our ABA therapists are in pursuit of or possess a Bachelor’s degree. Many of our ABA therapists continue on to obtain a Masters degree with the goal of becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. BCBAs have the ability to evaluate and assess clients while also developing specific treatment plans that help children gain an array of skill sets. BCBAs work independently and do not require oversight.
As you can imagine, becoming a BCBA requires an abundance of drive, passion, and responsibility. At CTT we are especially proud of our employees who have reached this point in their career. We understand that the transition from an ABA therapist to a BCBA is a big adjustment so we created a BCBA mentorship program specifically tailored for newly certified CTT BCBAs.
We created this program for a few reasons, but the overarching goal is to ensure our BCBAs have the skill set necessary to support their assigned clients in the most effective way possible.
We recently asked one of BCBAs who participated in the CTT mentorship program what he thought of the experience. Here’s how he answered:
Q. How long have you been with Connec–to–Talk and what made you join the team?
A. Since April 2018. To advance my career in ABA and work toward my BCBA
Q. What made you choose Connec–to–Talk for your first BCBA position?
A. I did my BCBA training at CTT. I wanted to continue to get my bearings as a BCBA in a familiar place.
Q. What has been most helpful to you since transitioning into this new role as BCBA?
A. The access to other BCBAs to bounce ideas off of as a sounding board.
Q. What would you tell someone about Connec–to–Talk’s BCBA mentorship program?
A. That there are no ‘silly’ questions, ask any and every question you have. The established knowledge base at CTT is fairly wide reaching, so do not be afraid to reach out and ask anything about anything.
Q. Do you feel more prepared to perform your job independently after having received mentorship support? If yes, explain why.
A. Yes. I received lots of support for learning the insurance processes which up until my mentorship, were more or less foreign to me. Also, having a knowledgeable mentor made troubleshooting difficult behavior challenges much easier.
